Every month multiple animals are brought to Anderson from transports. These are animals that would have been otherwise euthanized in overcrowded shelters. After the dogs take the long drive to Anderson there is much that is needed to initially care for them. This is what we need our Transport Team to help with (may be morning, afternoon or night):
Arrive an hour before the transport arrives.
Set up cages with newspapers/shred, food & water.
Help unload the dogs.
Clean cages if they go potty.
Replenish food & water as needed.
If the transport arrives at night we need:
Walk adult dogs
Replenish food & water
We will need experienced volunteers to get medications together.
Transport Team members do not have to be available for every transport (although that would be ideal). All Transport Team members will be contacted each month when a transport will be coming in.
