TRAINING SERVICES

We're proud to offer a variety of training programs to pet owners in the community.  We also keep a list of trainers that we've worked with and openly endorse.  Anderson does not condone the usage of aversive and punishment-based training methods. Aversive and punishment-based methods are not effective long-term and can cause increased fear, mistrust, negative association, and aggression.

Check out our various options for training below! We're excited to help you and your pet be successful!

Anderson Animal Shelter is proud to partner with A Sound Beginning Program, an innovative dog-training program designed for the newly adopted dog. Classes concentrate on life skills that focus on the human-animal bond, socialization and self-control, creating the foundation for a lifetime of learning!

When you adopt your new dog or puppy from Anderson, you will receive a FREE enrollment in A Sound Beginning Program’s Introduction to Training class! A Sound Beginning will help you create a better relationship with your dog, addressing existing behavior problems and preventing new ones from developing.

We have also proud to partner with A Sound Beginning to offer the Introduction to Training class FREE to all community members, families, supporters, dog-owners, fosters, and volunteers.  Please see below on information on how to register!
