We are proud to promote literacy in our community!  New for 2017, Shelter Tails is now an offsite Read-a-Thon where you can encourage your child to read while helping animals at the same time! This is also a great program for teachers to use to encourage their students to read while also supporting a great cause!  See the documents below.

Are you looking for a unique way to celebrate your child’s birthday? Consider having your child’s birthday at the shelter! Parties are two hours in length and include lots of animal interaction time!

Experience the gift of giving with our Birthday Buddies program! Shelters are always in need of supplies, and you can help. Simply send out our wish list with your birthday party invitations, asking your guests to help a shelter animal by making a donation.  You can then schedule a tour to drop off your donations and meet our cats and dogs.  Be sure to provide your information so you can receive a thank you letter and an official Birthday Buddy Certificate from our animals! Parents, what a great way to teach your children about the importance of generosity and giving.

In order for your child to receive a tour, certificate and be recognized as a Birthday Buddy, you must make arrangements with the coordinator in advance. We are unable to accommodate walk-in birthday tour requests.
